This is an unprecedented time for our schools, our state and our country as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.  At our IAAE Exectuive and Advisory Zoom meeting this past Saturday, a discussion was held on how each of our fine arts professional organizations are assisting teachers and students during the school closures across our state. Great things are being done across the state!

To assist the young teachers in Iowa, it was approved that IAAE provide for “virtual” mentor visits.  These visits can take place using phone calls, Zoom, Google Hangout, Skype, Facetime or Go to Meeting.  These “virtual” visits will be addition to normal on-site mentor visits and will be compensated at a rate of $25 per hour.  This is one way that IAAE can be responsive to the needs of our young professionals during this extraordinary time.
