Know any students who like to make videos? “The Film Lounge: Student Challenge” could be their big break.
Encourage Iowa students in grades 7-12 to submit a short original film for the new spin-off of “The Film Lounge,” a television series that Iowa Public Television co-produces with Produce Iowa and the Iowa Arts Council to showcase Iowa filmmakers and their work.
For the student version, we’re inviting students to submit 2- to 5-minute films on the theme “After Hours,” about unexpected people and unexpected places encountered after the last school bell rings. Entries can be in any genre, including documentaries, animations and even music videos, and are due MARCH 1st.
Students whose work is selected will receive statewide recognition and an invitation to join the Film Lounge Academy, complete with a red-carpet premiere and a workshop with industry pros.
Students can find insider tips and tricks from winners of past seasons of “The Film Lounge” as well as more information on how to apply at thefilmlounge.org.
And by all means, please spread the word. Help us discover the next big star right here in Iowa.
